What is WordDog?
No bones about it, WordDog is a unique software product that makes your writing easy to read. And you’ll feel better about the way you communicate.
WordDog points to more than 15,900 wordy phrases, unnecessary words, overworked expressions, AND their alternatives: short, concise, words that are easier to understand.
This means your readers will be more likely to understand you. Plus, you’ll hold their interest. And they’ll absorb information faster.
You’ll discover that WordDog usually shortens your sentences, especially when it finds redundant words.
WordDog loves to devour surplus words. When WordDog retrieves a clutter word, WordDog suggests that you delete it.
WordDog also sniffs out gender–specific words and suggests gender–neutral words for occupations, positions, and roles.
What’s more, WordDog can polish documents written in several English languages, such as American, Canadian, British, and Australian!
How Does WordDog Work?
WordDog is as easy to use as a spelling checker and powerful enough to make your writing sparkle.
When WordDog uncovers a suspicious word or phrase, WordDog displays a list of alternatives for you to choose from or gives you the option to delete the culprit.
Click an alternative word or phrase, or Delete, and WordDog lets you preview the edit. You can also manually edit the document directly, as required.
What’s more, you can customize WordDog. This is important. Let me explain . . .
You can command WordDog to skip over any word or phrase for the current working session or indefinitely. This means WordDog will not fetch any words you prefer to use or suggest alternatives out of context!
You can even run Microsoft Word’s Spelling and Grammar checker over each sentence you edit, directly from WordDog.
And more than that, WordDog links you to web–based grammar guides, dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, and quotations.
