RTang - Did u try a different browser? I dont think its compatible with internet explorer version 7, I use firefox and it works perfectly.

I have been reading all about this WhiteSmoke software. This is not JUST a simple correction site. It has major information about English corrections, tips of the day and Tutorials. The tutorials are interesting and informative.
The templates have saved me a great deal of thinking of what to write when it comes to composing letters. I was always bad at that and now it is not a worry. I also like the extra special characteristic that it offers,,,,when suggesting a change of word, it also offers an explanation of why the word is chosen. Nice extra. I have not seen that in any other correction software.

If you are not sure why WhiteSmoke is not working, I suggest you contact the Support at WhiteSmoke since they are really helpful and will update you with all the browsers that you can use.
Generally, I have found the on-line support efficient and quick with their answers.
A great software which I recommend. Do not give up, since it is worth the one call you have to make.

I worked fine with Whitesmoke 2008 and had upgrade to Whitesmoke 2009 in last December. However I got an fatal error on IE browser v7 freqently even I reinstall my Windows XP from scratch. I logged the problem to Whitesmoke but still not resolved.

I am wondering if your problem has been solved. I had a crash of my computer. It had nothing to do with the WhiteSmoke software, but as soon as the computer was back in action, I contacted the support and they helped me re-install the software and gave me the most updated version free of charge. I am a great fan of WhiteSmoke, as are the people I have recommended the software to.
You need to try the templates. A big time saver.

I called up the company with a problem with my computer after I received the General Writing version 2009, and I was able to get help right away. The guy was super helpful and I was very satisfied with the level of support I received.

I like to use the style suggestions, with different words to describe something I do not think of by myself. Its also a good way to check grammar mistakes.

The grammar check and word suggestions helps a lot. I edit my business letters with White Smoke, and I feel it helps me write faster. The built-in dictionary is useful as well. I dont think Word catches nearly as many mistakes as Whitesmoke.
